Content Categorizer Throws 'Invalid Parameter' When Trying to Categorize Any Documents (Doc ID 1103423.1)

Symptoms

After upgrading (or installing) a new version of the ContentCategorizer component, you are not able to categorize *any* documents: clicking the "Categorize" button on the check-in page displays the following error message:

Error computing Suggested Metadata during CheckInNew. Export XML Conversion
