Oracle Internet Directory Upgrade Assistant Fails With "User ODSSM Does Not Exist" (Doc ID 1113095.1)

Symptoms

Upgrading ORACLE Internet Directory from version 10.1.2.x  to 10.1.4.0.1 fails with the following error in file  oidca.log:

 

Stopping OID Server using OPMN..
Check if OID is running.
Performing SQL upgrade..
Registering OID server..
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01918: user 'ODSSM' does not exist

at oracle.jdbc.driver.DatabaseError.throwSqlException(DatabaseError.java:124)
at oracle.jdbc.driver.T4CTTIoer.processError(T4CTTIoer.java:315)

Changes

The OID repository database is configured for Password Complexity checks.
