java.sql.BatchUpdateException (ORA-12899) Reported when DB Adapter Reads a Row from a Table it is Polling for Added Rows

You have developed a composite application to be run on Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g that utilizes the DBAdapter to poll a database table for the arrival of new records.
At run time an error message similar to the following is encountered when a record is added to the database table being polled:
Throws Internal Exception: java.sql.BatchUpdateException: ORA-12899: value too large for column
"AS11G_SOAINFRA"."COMPOSITE_INSTANCE"."CONVERSATION_ID" (actual: 178, maximum: 100)
JCA Listener Throws Internal Exception: java.sql.BatchUpdateException: ORA-12899
