Symptoms

When attempting to change the owner of a Webcenter Interaction (WCI) job, a 30 second database timeout may generate the generic portal error, "Error - The server has experienced an error...".

The error in Logging Spy (PTSPY) appears as follows:

Error in function PTBaseObjectManager.QueryCount (lFolderID == -1, vQueryFilter == [ [8192], [6], [3] ]): Exception: Unable to receive data from server before time-out occurs.

The SQL query that is executed when this error occurs will look similar to the following:

SELECT DISTINCT (A.OBJECTID),A.NAME,A.DESCRIPTION,A.ISLOCALIZED,A.LOGINNAME,A.LOCKED

FROM PTVUSERS A, PTADMINFOLDERSECURITY B,PTVGROUPMEMBERSHIP C, PTMIGRATION M

WHERE C.USERID=@p0 AND C.GROUPID=B.GROUPID AND A.FOLDERID=B.FOLDERID AND A.FOLDERID =@p1 AND M.OBJECTID=A.OBJECTID AND M.CLASSID=1 AND B.ACCESSLEVEL >= @p2) A ORDER BY LOWER(A.NAME) ASC',N'@p0 int ,@p1 int ,@p2 int ',@p0=2441237,@p1=299,@p2=3
