JNDI Look-Ups Fail: WebLogic Server Appends Version Information to Context in JNDI Tree

Symptoms
When the Specification-Version and Implementation-Version are appended to MANIFEST.MF as below, the console displays a non-modifiable extra, version field under deployments.
Changes
Attempts to reproduce this issue have been made with WebLogic Server (WLS) 9.2 MP1, MP2, MP3 and WLS 10.3 with these steps:
1. Deploy company-workspace-client_WITH_VERSIONS.ear. It will result in versioned deployment i.e. no option in the console to disable versioning.
2. Undeploy company-workspace-client_WITH_VERSIONS.
3. Deploy company-workspace-client_WITHOUT_VERSIONS.ear. Observe that it does NOT result in versioned deployment.
Observations:
The issue is seen in WLS 9.2 MP1 and MP2. However in WLS 9.2 MP3 and WLS 10.3 issue is not seen.
