Intermittent PKI-02002: Unable To Open The Wallet - Report Server Fails To Start When 10gR2 and 11g Are in the Same Subnetwork or Machine (Doc ID 1144224.1)

Last updated on APRIL 24, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Reports Developer - Version 10.1.2.0.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Oracle AS 10gR2 and FMW 11g are installed in the same machine.

Intermittently, when one of the midtiers is rebounced, the Report Servers may fail to start displaying randomly:

--------
10/05/06 15:36:43 Start process
--------
May 6, 2010 3:36:45 PM oracle.security.jps.internal.credstore.ssp.CsfWalletManager openWallet
WARNING: Opening of wallet based credential store failed. Reason java.io.IOException: PKI-02002: Unable to open the wallet. Check password.

The SAME error PKI-2002 may reproduce randomly starting up 11g OR 10g R2 reports servers although PKI-2002 should be displayed just for FMW 11g reports servers, due credential store was not used yet in 10gR2.

Changes

Recently, FMW 11g was installed in the same machine where AS 10g R2 was already installed. By default, both installations are using multicast discovery method listening in port 14021 per rwnetwork.conf file AND both are using the SAME reports server names.
