Members Task Flow Only Shows Four Columns Of Members it Should Expand to Fit Area (Doc ID 1154113.1)

Last updated on MARCH 12, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The Members task flow is defaulting to a 4 column layout leaving a lot of white space when the task flow is placed into a large section of the page.

We have seen there is a property (that only page designers can access) that allows you to control the number of columns, however this is suppose to default to null which means fill the entire area.

The documentation states:

Table 15-3 Members Task Flow Properties: Parameter Tab

Number of Columns
The number of columns used to display group space members. The default is null which means 'no limit' and in this case member details wrap to fill the entire width of the task flow.

So even though the workaround would be to update that parameter to whatever size you need, there is a problem when it comes to users personalizing the page and dragging the taskflow to another region in the page that is either larger or smaller. A typical user does not have the option to change the number of column setting.
