CheckOutAndOpen(COAO) Does not Work With Cookie Based Auth (Extranetlook) on Windows7 Clients (Doc ID 1155753.1)

Last updated on MAY 01, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Content - Version 10.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On Content Server 10.1.3.5.0, when ExtranetLook is installed and configured to use cookie based authentication, CheckOutAndOpen stops working: When Word tries to open a document, it keeps prompting for user name and password but does't not authenticate user. Also the prompt still shows "Basic Authentication".

Steps to Reproduce
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Install and configure ExtranetLook as described in the readme.txt file in the component
2. Set IsWebServerPagesOnly=false to enable cookie based authentication
3. Try to perform a "check out and open" on any content item.
4. Office will prompt for user name and password but never authenticate the user.
