OWB Control Center Service Fails to Start With Time Out and Spins Off New Processes (Doc ID 1158775.1)

Symptoms

Unable to start the oracle Warehouse Builder Control Center Service using the script Start_service.sql.

Initially it will give the following error and spin off a new process, but after undefined time the service could be started:

service startup failure using command "<ORACLE_HOME>/owb/bin/unix/ run_service.sh -automatic 1 <ORACLE_HOME> <HOSTNAME>:<PORT_NUMBER>:<INSTANCE_NAME>" reason ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception: java.io.IOException: service startup timeout: err= : out=2010/07/23-08:51:47-EST [12152E6] Platform Service for null
