BPEL Workflow Email is Not Stored in the Database (Doc ID 1178671.1)

Symptoms

Using  SOA 10.1.3.4.x:

Using a BPEL process with Human Workflow where notifications are sent to Assignees, Approvers when the action is Assign or Approve.  The mails are delivered as expected, but there is no trace of the emails being sent. It is verified that tables WFNOTIFICATION, WFNOTIFICATIONMESSAGES, WFNOTIFICATIONSTATUS in the ORABPEL schema are empty.
