Purpose
This note provides advice and guidance on how to resolve issues with WebCenter Portal 11g performance issues.
Performance issues can be of any type, for example
- The performance has slowly degraded over time due to increased user activity.
- The performance has slowly degraded over time due to increased or changing content.
- The performance has become slower after a change of product version or a patchset has been applied.
- The performance is so slow that timeout errors appear during navigation.
The performance issues may show themselves in a number of ways.
- Average time to page delivery is slower generally throughout the site.
- Only some page delivery has become slower.
- Some portlets time out.
- Whole pages time out.
- Spaces navigation is slow
- Errors are seen in the AS logs and by end-users in their browser.
- Task flows which link to Wiki Server, UCM or other components are slow.
Scope
This document is aimed at WebCenter administrators, and should provide them with a toolkit to use when looking at performance issues.
