OID 11g - Password Filter For Microsoft Active Directory 2008: Where To Find msvcp71.dll And msvcr71.dll? Can Password Filter From Unix Media Be Used In AD? Which Media To Use For AD 2008 64 Bit? (Doc ID 1184695.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 14, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Internet Directory - Version 11.1.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

OID 11g (i.e., 11.1.1.2.0 or 11.1.1.3.0) on Unix server.
Also using Microsoft Active Directory (AD) 2008 server.

Tried to install the Password Filter setup.exe part of OID 11g software for Unix on Windows 2008 AD server and getting errors with DLL's - the Installer fails with ldapbindssl.exe executable, and if trying to run ldapbindssl.exe manually, it is looking for two DLL's belonging to Windows 2003 server (msvcp71.dll and msvcr71.dll) which do not exist in 2008. (Reference also Platform Specific item 8 of <Document 858748.1>.)

1.  How to obtain the right dll's for AD 2008?

2.  Is it ok to use the Password Filter software from the Unix 11g media onto Windows AD, or should the OID 11g media for Windows platform be downloaded and used instead?

3.  If AD 2008 OS is 64 bit, which Password Filter should be used?
