How To Load Data from Fixed Length Files Directly from the Source to the Target Without Creating Any Temporary Table (Doc ID 1187283.1)

This article describes the specific case to load data from "Fixed Length Files" directly from source to target without the use of Staging Area.

which follows the approach of creating a custom IKM, as a fusion of LKM File to Oracle (sqlldr) and IKM SQL to SQL Append. Such approach unfortunately does not work for fixed length files, thus the existence of this article.

If using the above approach, then SQL*Loader control file is not generated correctly:

A new type of KM needs to be created (an LKM) as the the IKM has a restriction to deal with Fixed Length Files.
