Oracle Application Express 3.2.1 and 4.0.

Goal

This note describes how to use the APEX Listener to serve multiple instances of APEX. This example assumes one is using GlassFish on Linux and will be configuring it for two different 4.0 instances.  Steps will be similar if the APEX Listener is running on OC4J or WLS and if using Windows.

Note:  This note does NOT apply to APEX Listener 2.0 and above.  For APEX Listener version 1.X, you must be on at least APEX Listener version 1.1.1 to configure multiple Listeners with WLS due to Bugs 10080170 and 10074666.  See <Note 1367215.1> How to Change the Location of the apex-config.xml Used by the APEX Listener with Weblogic Server: for additional details.

It is possible to configure the APEX Listener to serve two different versions of  APEX (ex. 4.0 and 3.2.1), however that is beyond the scope of this note.  See <Note 430837.1> for the requirements on setting up different versions of APEX on a single web server.
