While deploying a WebCenter Task Flow Customizations application using "metadata" deployment profile no MAR file (metadata.mar) is generated.
The "metadata" deployment profiles is expected to generate a "metadata.mar" file.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
- Download the WebCenter Task Flow Customization Supporting Files from here:
- Follow the white paper: WebCenter Task Flow Customization
- Apply the customizations by following this section of the above documentation:
Applying Seeded Customizations to Deployed WebCenter Applications
Skip steps 1-4 of the above section of the documentation to use the metadata deployment profile provided with the application. Then continue with the next steps to deploy the "metadata" Deployment Profile (In the Application Navigator, from the Application Menu, choose Deploy > metadata -> Deploy to JAR file).
When deploying the existing "metadata" Deployment Profile you should see some messages similar to the next ones in the JDeveloper - Log:
[02:12:20 PM] >>>> Warning: Unable to determine the target platform from the Profile. Using default...
[02:12:20 PM] ---- Deployment started. ----
[02:12:20 PM] Target platform is (Weblogic 10.3).
[02:12:20 PM] Running dependency analysis...
[02:12:20 PM] Deploying profile...
[02:12:20 PM] Modified adf-config.xml in the application OAR file.
[02:12:22 PM] Elapsed time for deployment: 1 second
[02:12:22 PM] ---- Deployment finished. ----
This step doesn’t generate any errors.
The deployment Summary screen shows the file will be created:
Output File: D:\JDeveloper\mywork\SpacesTaskflowCustomizationApplication\deploy\metadata.mar
However the "deploy" directory is not created and the "metadata.mar" file is not generated.
