AD to OID 10g Bootstrap Fails For Entries With Forward Slash In The CN With Bootstrap.log Error: [LDAP: error code 32 - No Such Object] (Doc ID 1192306.1)

Symptoms

Oracle Internet Directory (OID) 10g (10.1.2 or 10.1.4).

When performing Active Directory (AD) to OID Directory Integration Platform (DIP) Import integration, bootstrap fails when the CN (RDN) contains a frontslash / forward slash ("/").

Bootstrap.log shows the following error on the entries with the slash:

ERROR: [Tue Aug 17 13:14:08 CDT 2010] Writer Thread - 0 - Error occurred while loading - cn=<LASTNAME FIRSTNAME/ XXX>,cn=users,dc=<COMPANY>,dc=com
ERROR: [Tue Aug 17 13:14:08 CDT 2010] Writer Thread - 0 - [LDAP: error code 32 - No Such Object]
