WebLogic Server 9.2 - WLST Undeploy Command for Versioned Application Fails (Doc ID 1193954.1)

Last updated on JUNE 02, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 9.2 to 9.2
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Issue of undeploying the versioned application in WLST failing was reported on WebLogic Server.

Using the undeploy command in WLST as below was throwing "weblogic.management.ManagementException" exception saying it was not deployed to AdminServer even though the target of the versioned application is not Admin Server.

With below undeploy WLST command with application name, expectation is that it should undeploy all versions of that particular application from domain. This was not working.

undeploy('<Application Name>')

Below is exception message in WLST when above WLST undeploy command is issued for versioned application.

Deployment Message : weblogic.management.ManagementException: [Deployer:149118]'<appl>' is not targeted to 'AdminServer'.

As a workaround, one can specify the application name along with the version and target of that application, which works as expected:

undeploy ('<applicationname>#<version>','<target ClusterName or ServerName>')
