Oracle Virtual Directory (OVD) 10g ( Adapter Criticality Setting Does Not Work As Expected And Gives Ldap Error 1

(Doc ID 1194833.1)

Applies to:

Oracle Virtual Directory - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Even with criticality set to false in non-critical adapters (LDAP and Database Adapters), it does not work as expected.  The overall result is an ldap error 1.

For example the relevant lines from access.log in a test environment using Oracle Virtual Directory are:

[2010-08-24 14:44:06,971] conn=6 op=1 SRCH base="" scope=2 filter="samaccountname=testuser"
[2010-08-24 14:44:11,529] conn=6 op=1 RESULT err=1 tag=0 nentries=1 etime=4558 mem=4102984/17465344

Since a non-critical adapter has failed that the overall result should have be err=0 instead of err=1.
