The Sun Java Systems Application Server and GlassFish Server to a large degree have common log file, configuration file locations, as well as commands to report the software version.  This article outlines where to locate this information to simplify providing this information when logging a support case.  The only real exceptions are the 7.x product family, with minor changes in 3.1.x, and where these introduces differences, those will be highlighted.
