Soap/Http Response Puts Content-type Charset HTTP Header Attribute As "utf-8" (inside quotes). (Doc ID 1208879.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 03, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Weblogic Server - Version: 10.0 to 10.0
Information in this document applies to any platform.

On WLS 10.0.1, when invoking a JAX-RPC web service, the HTTP headers of the response contain the following:

HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Date: Wed, 13 Oct 2010 20:18:10 GMT
Transfer-Encoding: chunked
Content-Type: text/xml; charset="utf-8"

Charset attribute value "UTF-8" (with quotes) which breaks the client request.

This is a product bug and got fixed in WLS 10.3.
