Symptoms

In JDeveloper 10g, Application Module activation fails with an error

JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: java.lang.ClassCastException, msg=oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLText

when activating a View Object including a bind variable of type oracle.jbo.domain.DBSequence.

The stack trace is:

500 Internal Server Error

The problem was reported as occurring intermittently in Production, but it could be reproduced in
the Development environment by setting -Djbo.ampool.doampooling=false, as explained in
