Symptoms

A web service client threw the following exception.  The web service client and server code were generated from the same WSDL.

javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: failed to serialize interface javax.xml.soap.SOAPElementweblogic.xml.schema.binding.SerializationException: mapping lookup failure. class=interface javax.xml.soap.SOAPElement class context=TypedClassContext{schemaType=['http//abcd.efg.hij.com/wsm']:PublishOrderInfo}

Changes

You changed the WSDL to import some schemas.  The format of the import statements in the WSDL is important, and must be similar to the below example in order for the problem to occur.

Example:

Your WSDL imports a "Contact" schema using the following format:

<types>
<xsd:schema xmlns:ch="http://ccc.ddd.com/common"
xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
xmlns:tns="http://abcd.efg.hij.com/wsm"
targetNamespace="http://abcd.efg.hij.com/wsm"
elementFormDefault="qualified" attributeFormDefault="unqualified">
<xsd:import namespace="http://abcd.efg.hij.com/contact"
schemaLocation="./Contact.xsd" />
<xsd:import namespace="http://ccc.ddd.com/common"
schemaLocation="./Common.xsd" />
</xsd:schema>

</types>
