Problem Description

This document helps customers to understand more about WebLogic licenses. It looks at some of the different meanings covered in license components. It covers the different licensing errors and the quick possible solutions, available to customers, that will resolve their licensing issues (thereby increasing customer independence).

Please note that Oracle has different policies around licensing than were used by BEA. Please see Primary Note on WebLogic Server (WLS) Licensing and License Files <Note 1076283.1> for updated information on licensing now that WebLogic Server is part of Oracle.
