How to Register Manually Created .env Files to Enterprise Manager in Forms Version 11g (Doc ID 1223345.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 06, 2010

Applies to:

Oracle Forms - Version: 11.1.1.1.0 and later   [Release: and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Forms runtime reads its environment parameters from the *.env files located in :

DOMAIN_HOME/config/fmwconfig/servers/WLS_FORMS/applications/formsapp_11.1.1/config
directory where DOMAIN_HOME is the home directory of the domain used in FMW 11g. For different config sections in formsweb.cfg, it is possibl to use a different env file specified by the "envFile" parameter. If these env files are created and maintained through Enterprise Manager (EM) then all is OK. However, if these files are created manually, although the runtimes read and use those files, it is not possible to manage these files through EM.
This article answers the question, how to register such manually created env files to EM so that they can be maintained by EM also.
