Last updated on DECEMBER 19, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Integration - Version 9.2.2MP and later
Generic (Platform Independent)

During WLI server restart, application deployment fails with the below error.

Aug 30, 2010 4:00:20 AM MDT> <Error> <Deployer> <wpsun033> <M1> <[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '0' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'> <> <> <> <1283162420105> <BEA-149231> <Unable to set the activation stateto true for the application 'ocmrealtime'.
java.lang.RuntimeException: Failed to deploy process /ocmrealtime_Web/com/xxxxxxxx/eai/OCMRTCRM/processes/OCMRTUpCRM.jpd. There are running instances with incompatible serialization shape.

Usually this error comes if the ear is modified and there are running / aborted instances of the JPD. If the ear is modified, please refer to Note 865656.1

If the ear file(no change at all) is exactly the same as before server restart and if the issue occurs if there are any running or aborted instances then follow the instruction in the solution to move forward.
