Unable to Perform Filestore Rollback on Unix Systems Using Multiple Partitions with FileStoreProvider (Doc ID 1233605.1)

Symptoms

Updating metadata throws an error on Unix when using multiple partitions on different volumes with FileStoreProvider. The error may appear in one of the following forms when the storage rule for a content item changes and with the change the file is move from one file system volume to another.

Server output filestore tracing may show this:
requestaudit 09.15 12:56:05.296 IdcServerThread-385802 UPDATE_DOCINFO [dID=9709251][dDocName=4520524][dDocTitle=171027283 <redacted>][dUser=sysadmin][StatusCode=-1][StatusMessage=Unable to update the content item information for '4520524'. Unable to perform filestore rollback.][IsJava=1] 2.645(secs)


The Content Server page may show this error after trying to update the metadata:


Unable to update the content item information for '013356'. The target file cannot be accessed. Unable to rename the file '/opt/ucm/part1/groups/public/documents/adacct/013356.txt' to '/home/oracle/ucmpartition3/groups/public/documents/adacct/013356.txt'.
