No Effect When Using Disable-Output-Escaping In XSLT To Retain An Empty Element Or An Element WIth A Single Space As Vlaue. (Doc ID 1254947.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 05, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle SOA Suite - Version 11.1.1.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

You have a BPEL process which consist of a XSLT transformation which in turn contains the code similar to below:

Example:

<tns:email>
<xsl:text disable-output-escaping="yes"> </xsl:text>
</tns:email>

The expected result / output would be:

<tns:email> </tns:email>

Instead you get:

<tns:email/>

Which is still a valid XML, but not the expected result as per XSLT coding.

If you are facing the above behavior then you have the same issue as discussed in this note.
