af:selectItem With Property disabled="true" Does Not Render in Internet Explorer (Doc ID 1257784.1)

Last updated on MARCH 18, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle JDeveloper - Version 10.1.3.0.4 to 11.1.1.3.0 [Release Oracle10g to Oracle11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

You are developing an ADF Faces application in JDeveloper 10g
One of your pages contains an af:selectOneChoice including an af:selectItem with its disabled property
set to "true":

...
<af:selectOneChoice label="Choose value"
                    unselectedLabel="Select value...">
   <af:selectItem label="Value1"/>
   <af:selectItem label="Value2" disabled="true"/>
</af:selectOneChoice>
...

When running that page in Firefox, the select list correctly renders that selectItem: it's disabled (greyed out).

However, in Internet Explorer, the disabled item doesn't appear at all in the list, displaying only the enabled items.
