Symptoms
A managed server would not start up, but stayed in the STANDBY state in the console. The logs showed that the managed server was stuck trying to initialize a JDBC connection pool. At the same time, the database machine was down and not reachable. WebLogic got stuck at this point. You may see the following errors in the WebLogic log:
Changes
The database machine is powered off, or its Network Interface Card (NIC) is off, or the Network cable is disconnected from the machine.
