How Wwctx_sso.Cleanup_sessions Job Works Within Oracle Portal (Doc ID 1269597.1)

Last updated on MARCH 14, 2022

Applies to:

Portal - Version 10.1.2.0.2 to 11.1.1.7.0 [Release 10gR2 to FMW11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Sometimes the application server locks up when the cleanup session job is running at the same time as users use the system. The shared database environment is getting a lot of CPU load when the 'wwctx_sso.cleanup_sessions' job defined on dba_jobs table,  is running at daytime.
If the content of the related PORTAL.WWCTX_SSO_SESSION$ table is deleted usually every 30 min (that was at least how it was configured earlier) why is this information stored in a table?
