ldapbind To OVD With DB Adapter Fails With Invalid Credentials (Doc ID 1272105.1)

Symptoms

Oracle Virtual Directory (OVD) has been configured with a database (db) adapter. Attributes userid and userpassword have been mapped to columns in the database object configured for the adapter.

Bind as any database user fails with invalid credentials. Example:



Additional symptoms

Bind fails even when the password value is stored in clear text in the database object.

ldapsearch for the same database user is successful, but the userpassword attribute is not included in the LDAP attributes returned for the user entry.
