Maintaining the DDL history and GGS_Marker tables (Doc ID 1272645.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 22, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle GoldenGate - Version 9.5_EA to 11.1.1.0.10 [Release 9.5.0 to 11.1.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

We are using OGG EXTRACT for DDL capture as well as change capture. But the GGS_Marker and DDL history (GGS_DDL_HIST) tables are causing the tablespace it is in to fill up. How should maintenance be performed on this table?

Could you explain the minkeepdays vs maxkeepdays values used with PURGEDDLHISTORY and PURGEMARKERHISTORY?
