This document covers steps required to modify database settings that apply to to the WebCenter Interaction (WCI, formerly known as Plumtree Portal and BEA Aqualogic User Interaction) version 6.1 portal product suites.

Unlike the later BEA Aqualogic User Interaction 6.5.X and Oracle WebCenter Interaction 10.3.0.X product suites, these products do not use the web-based Configuration Manager utility for configuring settings and therefore all settings must be manually made through configuration files.

For Oracle WCI Portal versions 6.5 onwards, you need to use the configuration manager to update database user name and passwords and the information below does not apply to these versions.
