Diagnostics .DAT file grows infinitely, bringing down managed servers (Doc ID 1274992.1)

Symptoms

Managed servers start crashing without any notice. When exploring the path $DOMAIN_HOME/servers/<server_name>/data/store/diagnosis, a large archive, specifically WLS_DIAGNOSTICS000000.DAT is being produced. This file grows so large that the machine runs out of disk space, bringing down the managed servers. When the managed servers go down, the service goes down as well.

Changes

Nothing identified that looks outstanding to generate the large creation of the .DAT file.
