How To Identify The Authentication Route In Environment With OIF SP Integrated With OAM? (Doc ID 1275484.1)

In an environment where the applications are protected by Oracle Access Manager (OAM) and Oracle Identity Federation (OIF) as Service Provider (SP) has been integrated with the same OAM for federated Single Sign-On (SSO), users can authenticate via two routes:

a) Identity Provider (IdP) or Service Provider (SP) initiated federated SSO, where the OAM session cookie is set by the OIF SP.

b) OAM SSO using form authentication, where the OAM session cookie is set by the application WebGate.

How to verify which route the user took to access the OAM protected application?
