How to Set up a Shared ODI 11g Studio Environment to Allow Multiple Users to Have Their Own Specific Folders on Microsoft Windows Operating System (Doc ID 1277560.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 14, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Data Integrator - Version 11.1.1.3.0 to 11.1.1.9.99 [Release 11gR1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

When attempting to set up a shared Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) Studio version 11g configuration on a Microsoft Windows server, the directory to insert the ODI configuration files is by default the Windows %APPDATA% folder (C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data).

Is there a way to change this directory in order to be able to allow each user to posses his own profile and his own set of ODI configurations?

Note this does not apply to ODI 12c Studio.

According to the following Oracle documentation:

Installing and Configuring Oracle Data Integrator
> 5 Configuring Oracle Data Integrator Studio
  > Starting ODI Studio

available at: https://docs.oracle.com/en/middleware/lifecycle/12.2.1.3/oding/toc.htm

On Windows operating systems only, the user who installed ODI can start ODI Studio. No other user has privileges to start ODI Studio.
