Inconsistent object types returned by getObject() if they have LOB columns in their select list (Doc ID 1279172.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 09, 2023

Applies to:

JDBC - Version 11.2.0.1.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When a select query has both the LOB and RAW columns and no explicit user defined
column type, a call to getObject() on the RAW column to get the select result returned as a type byte[] returns an object of type oracle.sql.RAW instead.

This issue only occurs when LOB prefetch and implicit statement cache are used.
