Last updated on NOVEMBER 05, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Weblogic Server - Version: 10.3.3 and later   [Release: and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

setOption is a WLST offline command which sets options related to a WebLogic domain creation or update. After creating a WebLogic Server domain using the setOption('AppDir', '<path>') command in order to set the path where all the applications should be stored, the applications are still stored in the default location i.e., ${ORA_HOME}/user_projects/applications.

The sample script used to create a domain:

readTemplate('D:/WLS_Installation/WLS1033/wlserver_10.3/common/templates/domains/wls.jar')
cmo.setName('test_domain')
cd('Security/test_domain/User/weblogic')
cmo.setPassword('weblogic1')
cd('/Server/TestServer')
cmo.setName('TestServer')
cmo.setListenPort(7001)
setOption('AppDir','D:/SetOption_test')
writeDomain('D:/WLS_Installation/WLS1033/user_projects/domains/Test_Domains')
closeTemplate()
