Getting Error Unable to Retrieve Application Error TCM-00787 After Changing Security to a new LDAP Provider (Doc ID 1281792.1)

Symptoms

After initial installation of the Imaging product, security was changed within WebLogic Server to an LDAP provider.  It is possible to login to the Imaging client as the new Imaging Admin user and this use does have administrative rights, but the following error occurs when trying to edit or use any of the applications.
