Images Added to Wiki in Edit mode of WYSIWYG Editor Disappear in View mode - the IMG tag is Broken (Doc ID 1282755.1)

Symptoms

While adding images to Wiki in Edit mode using the WYSIWYG Editor in the edit tab, the image will disappear going to to view mode of the Wiki.

However, again moving back to edit tab to see the source - in the src attributes the <img> tag is removed automatically. Adding the IMG tag manually  results in the same behavior.

Below are simple steps to replicate the issue:

1. Create a new Wiki Page of type HTML
2. Go to Edit mode of the page and add an image from a web URI.
3. Go to View mode of the page, the image disappears.
4. Go back to Edit mode, the IMG tag will be broken, add it manually and Save and go to View mode, still the same behavior.

Changes

Normal usage of Wiki OOTB from http://wiki_host:port/owc_wiki with above testcase will reproduce the issue.
