The RSS Size For Opensso's Web Container Is Increasing Over 90% (Doc ID 1285776.1)

Last updated on MARCH 04, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle OpenSSO - Version to 8.0.2 [Release 8.0]
Oracle Solaris on x86 (32-bit)
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)
Oracle Solaris on x86-64 (64-bit)
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (32-bit)

More than 1 OpenSSO server is being run behind a load balancer.

Approximately every 2 hours, the RSS consumed by one of OpenSSO's web containers reaches 90% of "SIZE" as shown by the output of the Solaris command "prstat".  If the web container for which the RSS has reached 90% is allowed to continue running, the web container will crash logging an "Out of Memory" condition prior to crashing.

The following exception can be seen repeating thousands of times within a time frame of a few seconds in OpenSSO's "Session" debug log when the RSS size of the web container process is increasing and prior to the occurrence of the "Out of Memory" error:

Session.processSessionResponseException: exception received from server:Application token passed in, is invalid.token:<token identifier>
