Windows v2 Authentication fails when DPAPI is enabled in ESSO-LM

The user is unexpectedly prompted to authenticate to the repository when attempting to add new credentials in ESSO-Logon Manager on a second workstation. The user types the password and clicks the Ok button but the Windows v2 authentication prompt fails to respond or terminate. Authentication fails and the user is unable to add new credentials.
