OID DIP Bootstrap Reports: entries ignored in bootstrap operation (Doc ID 1290820.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 28, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Internet Directory - Version 10.1.4 to 11.1.1.3.0 [Release 10gR3 to 11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Performing LDIF to LDIF bootstrap with Directory Integration Platform (DIP) of Oracle Internet Directory (OID).

In OID/DIP 11g, bootstrap reports entries ignored in bootstrap operation.

Example bootstrap command output:

./syncProfileBootstrap -h <HOSTNAME> -p 7005 -D <USERNAME> -f /home/oracle/mybootstrap.properties
[Weblogic user password]
Connection parameters initialized.
Connecting at <HOSTNAME>:7005, with userid "<USERNAME>"..
Connected successfully.

The bootstrap operation completed, the operation results are:
entries read in bootstrap operation: 2
entries filtered in bootstrap operation: 0
entries ignored in bootstrap operation: 1
entries processed in bootstrap operation: 1
entries failed in bootstrap operaton: 0

Regardless of debug level set, the diagnostic log from OID 11g (11.1.1.1 through 11.1.1.3), i.e., $WLS_HOME/domains/IDMDomain/servers/wls_ods1/logs/wls_ods1-diagnostic.log file only reports the same generic notification message for all missed entries, and it does not identify their DN or anything else about them, i.e.:

[2011-01-06T15:15:23.590-05:00] [wls_ods1] [NOTIFICATION] [] [oracle.dip] [tid: Writer Thread - 0] [userId: <USERNAME>] [ecid: <ECID>] [APP: DIP#11.1.1.2.0] IGNORING_ENTRY

In OID/DIP 10g (as tested in 10.1.4.3) nothing at all is logged in the bootstrap.log for the ignored entries.
