Overview

The Lifetime Support Policy (LSP)and Error Correction Support Policy (ECP) documents provide Oracle's position regarding the support of Oracle Fusion Middleware products. With these documents an administrator can plan maintenance activities based on the dates and guidelines provided. Each product has an End of Premier Support, and every version within a product's life cycle has an end of Error Correction Support after a defined Grace Period has ended.

The following document provides more information to explain how the LSP and ECP work together including defining terminology:

As defined in the policy documents, the Grace Period has passed because a newer Patch Set has been released for more than a year. Its important to note that the Lifetime Support Policy and Error Correction Support Policy documents are the single source of truth, subject to change, and will provide exceptions when required. This My Oracle Support document is providing a summary of the Grace Period dates and time lines for planning purposes.


Important:
  • Oracle Fusion Middleware information given within this document is for the main release date and grace period. There are other products within Oracle Fusion Middleware which may have different dates and exceptions as per the Lifetime Support Policy document.

 

Overall Example for 10g

At the time of this writing, versions 10.1.2.3.0, 10.1.3.5.0, 10.1.3.5.1 and 10.1.4.3.0 have Error Correction Support until the end of Premier Support. The last being released was the 10.1.3.5 Patch Set, released in AUG2009, where the Grace Period expired for 10.1.3.4.0 in AUG2010. Customers will be required to update to 10.1.3.5.0 in order to have any new fixes provided. Error Correction Support will continue on the remaining versions until the End of Premier Support as defined by the date and exceptions within the Lifetime Support Policy document.

The following provides the date each base release version was released and the end of grace period for each of the base releases. These are dependent on a Patch Set released in order for the grace period to take effect until the End of Premier Support stated in the Lifetime Support Policy document.

(c) Solaris Intel (x86) has not had a Patch Set released, thus the End of Premier Support dates in the Lifetime Support Policy document are applicable to 10.1.4.0.1 when defining the end of error correction support.

 

End of Grace Period for Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2) Patch Sets

The release dates of Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2) Patchsets on a respective platform are at the bottom of the following document:

The following provides the date to end of grace period for each of the base releases. These are dependent on a Patch Set released in order for the grace period to take effect until the End of Premier Supportstated in the Lifetime Support Policy document.

(a) If 10.1.2.3.0 is the latest patchset, then Error Correction Support continues until the End of Premier Support stated in the Lifetime Support Policy document.

(b) Oracle Portal 10.1.4.2 is included with version 10.1.2.3. Oracle Portal should updated to 10.1.4.0 before applying the 10.1.2.3 Patchset. The 10.1.2.3 Patchset will then update Oracle Portal to 10.1.4.2. See Table 3 within <Note 329361.1> regarding this update.

 

 

End of Grace Period for Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3) Patch Sets

(b) Since Solaris x86 did not have a 10.1.4.x patchset released, the base release 10.1.4.0.1 has error correction support continues until the End of Premier Support stated in the Lifetime Support Policy document.
(c) These dates are for the Oracle Identity Management 10g (10.1.4) release which included the Oracle Single Sign-On 10g product for single sign-on functionality. Oracle Access Manager 10g and Access Manager WebGates 10g are products formerly known as Oracle Oblix COREid and also provide single sign-on features. The OAM 10g and OAM WebGates 10g version 10.1.4.3 have had an extention of Premier Support date as per the Lifetime Support Policy.
