Last updated on MARCH 08, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter - Version: 11.1.1.3.0 and later   [Release: 11g and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Entering an expression in the 'expression builder' for Display options that allow an expression do not take an effect. Noticed this functionality on text items on a page and also the activity stream item on a page.

This occurs in 11.1.1.3 + Bundle Patch 2.

This behavior does not occur in 11.1.1.2 + Bundle Patch 4.

Sample testcase steps:

Background:
1. Created new page.
2. Edit the page and add an activity stream.
3. Click on the edit icon (pencil) for the activity stream.
4. Click on Display Options tab.
5. Next to Background (currently set to light), click on the expression builder.
6. Enter "#{changeModeBean.inEditMode ? 'medium' : 'light'}" for the "Type a value or expression". clicking on Test shows "Information Value Returned: 'medium'".
7. Click OK. The Background value now shows blank.
8. Click Apply. The Background value now shows light again instead of medium.

If in the expression builder light or medium or dark is entered for "Type a value or expression", the value does take.

Show Resizer:
1. Created new page.
2. Edit the page and add content from Layout, select Text.
3. Click on the edit icon (pencil) for the text item.
4. Click on Display Options tab.
5. Next to Show Resizer (currently set to never), click on the expression builder.
6. Enter "#{changeModeBean.inEditMode ? 'always' : 'never'}" for the "Type a value or expression". clicking on Test shows "Information Value Returned: 'always'".
7. Click OK. The show resizer value now shows blank.
8. Click Apply. The show resizer value now shows never again instead of always.

This seems to happen to all display options that an expression can be built for.

Changes

Applied Bundle Patch 2 for WebCenter 11.1.1.3.
