Why was a NORMAL recovery done after upgrade of OGG

Symptoms

On restart after an upgrade of OGG, OGG will not always perform a BOUNDED recovery but may perform a NORMAL recovery using the Recovery Checkpoint(s).

You will see the following WARNING  messages
2012-03-07 15:54:37 WARNING OGG-01568 Oracle GoldenGate Capture for Oracle, ea_sssgl.prm: br_validate_bcp: unsupported BR version: CP.EA_SSSGL.000001927: version expected: 4 version found: 2, Restarting from the Recovery Checkpoint.
2012-03-07 15:54:37 WARNING OGG-01573 Oracle GoldenGate Capture for Oracle, ea_sssgl.prm: br_validate_bcp: failed in call to: br_validate_bcp.
2012-03-07 15:54:37 WARNING OGG-01633 Oracle GoldenGate Capture for Oracle, ea_sssgl.prm: BOUNDED RECOVERY: NO VALID BCP FOUND: last file examined: CP.EA_SSSGL.000001927.
2012-03-07 15:54:37 WARNING OGG-01573 Oracle GoldenGate Capture for Oracle, ea_sssgl.prm: br_restore: failed in call to: br_validate_bcp.
2012-03-07 15:54:37 WARNING OGG-01573 Oracle GoldenGate Capture for Oracle, ea_sssgl.prm: BR_restore: failed in call to: br_restore.
