Internal Error When Opening a WebCenter Page in a New Tab or Window Using the Browser Context Menu With IE8 (Doc ID 1294375.1)

When using the context menu to open a WebCenter page in a new tab or window from Internet Explorer 8 (IE8), the following error occurs:

Internal Error
If the error persists, report the problem to your administrator.

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

Using IE8, navigate to a group space that has an associated site template.
Right click the mouse in a page tab to bring the browser context menu.
From the context menu select any of the following options:

Open in New Tab
Open in New Window
This should open the WebCenter in the new page or tab but it will return the following error:

Internal Error
