OSB errors with BEA-382510 During XSL Transform from Two Input Documents to a Single Output (Doc ID 1298039.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 28, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Enterprise Service Bus - Version 10.3.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

XSL engine in JVM produces BEA-382510 and java.lang.RuntimeException: Invalid conversion from '$ElementXobj' to 'node-set' errors from within Oracle Service Bus when using Assign which uses XSLT to transform two input xml document to single xml document.

Are able to Test pass this concept in JDeveloper (XSL Map) where it asks for two xml documents and produce transformed xml.
In OSB, Assign action works fine when we pass xml documents through standard paramter (Input Document).

When we have extra parameter in XSLT (xsl:param), OSB in runtime was not able to perform Xpath expression on the second input xml document we pass.

Error message:

<con:fault xmlns:con="">
OSB Assign action failed updating variable "rsp_header":
java.lang.RuntimeException: Invalid conversion from '$ElementXobj' to 'node-set'.
