Attempts to View Webconsole/DSCC from Browser Gives Error: "Could not contact the DSCC agent on HOST. Use the command cacaoadm to check that the DSCC agent is installed and running on port CACAO_PORT." (Doc ID 1301705.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 03, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition - Version 6.0 to 11.1.1.5.2 [Release 6.0 to 11gR1]
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)
Oracle Solaris on x86-64 (64-bit)

Symptoms

For a pkg install, the webconsole does not display the login page, and for a zip install, the DSCC login page is not displayed in the browser.

Running dsccsetup status shows no issues:
- DSCC Application is registered in Sun Java (TM) Web Console (for a pkg install, not zip install)
- DSCC Agent is registered in Cacao
- DSCC Registry has been created
Path of DSCC registry is <PATH_TO>/dscc6/dcc/ads
Port of DSCC registry is DSCC_REG_PORT

Note: By default the DSCC Registry port is DSCC_ADMIN_PORT.

After being able to view the DSCC in the browser, when trying to create a Directory server instance, gives the error:

Error: Could not contact the DSCC agent on <HOST>. Use the command cacaoadm to check that the DSCC agent is installed and running on port <DSCC_AGENT_PORT>.

Changes

For the pkg install, the pkg installation was uninstalled and then reinstalled.
