Why Manager Process Shows More Than One Process In "ps -ef"

Symptoms

On my Linux Server, I start mgr process, then I use "ps -ef | grep mgr" to monitor the manager process. I can see five processes. Why can I see more than one processes when only one manager is running? Is my manager process running OK?
